Purpose and objective

The client for this project wanted a redesign of their existing website called Kids Mode. The website is for an app which is pre-installed and can be downloaded from google Play and Apple which put a regular smart phone into a kids friendly mode. They wanted to move away from the pages seeming too childish. So whilst we want to show the characters we want to ensure that the page is still appealing to adults and not too childish. They wanted to create a new experience that will enable consumers to access the right information when they need it. Kids Mode has a variety of entertainment made specially for children of different ages. Parents can secure their phone by setting up a password and also allow their children to access parts of their phone such as contacts and gallery.

The client wanted a site that is more interactive, additionally with ‘lifestyle’ images to make pages really visual and not too copy heavy. Applying user case content being created for a Tool kit alongside a press review article.

Target Audience

Parents and carers who have or look after children.

My Contribution

Working on my own, I was tasked with re-lifting the Kids Mode website. I collaborated directly with the client, the account manager during the entire project. The project spanned for a few month as it project was on hold for some time. They had a change of direction in regards to the objective of the site. It was later decided that they wanted to redesign the site with new content.

The Challenge

Initially the site was to be designed freely but later it changed to using certain components from a CMS (content management system) called AEM (Adobe Experience Manager). Therefore, I redesigned the site a few different ways until eventually I designed it according to the specifications permitted by the CMS.
